The General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi has revealed how he met his wife, Esther when she was 65 years, as reported by P. M. News on August 24, 2024.
Kumuyi gave a speech on Saturday at the church’s “Impact” program for young people in Delta State.
When he proposed to Esther at age 65, the man of God, who was lecturing on the subject of “The Decision and Determination to stand Out,” stated she had never been married.
Kumuyi claimed that he had become the best thing in her life after they were married in 2010 following the death of his first wife, Biodun.
He had cautioned the adolescents and young adults against accepting the cliche that “A fool at forty is a fool forever.”
They contaminate you when you assume that someone who is foolish at forty is foolish forever.
You haven’t even tried at all. You are forty-three years old and single. I’m 43 years old, and I’m done having kids.
I can’t begin a new lesson at 43 since where I am is permanent. In Jesus’ name, I revoke that.
“Mom, will you mind if I say something? Mama Esther won’t mind.”
Kumuyi continued, saying, “She was 40, she was not married, 45, she was not married, 50, she was not married, 55, and 60, she was not married.”
Esther replied that she did not mind. 65, I came along and declared that God’s desire was for me to wed you.
“She prayed, asking God, ‘What should I do?'” God didn’t say, “No, tell him you’re 65, a fool at 40, 45, 50, 55, or 60 is a fool forever,” or anything like that.
When she returned, she asked, “What did she say?” ‘Yes,’ was echoed by the audience.
“Yes,” she replied. Say yes at 30, 35, 40, 50, 60, and 65 years of age.”
“And ever since she said yes and we got together, I, William, the faith-defender, have grown to be the best thing that has ever happened to her.”
Keep going and make it your mission in life to not let what people say oppose who you are, Kumuyi advised.
