Nigerian Senator, Adams Oshiomhole has appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu even as economic hardship worsens.
Oshiomhole made the appeal on Sunday during an interview on Channels TV Politics programme where he also explained why citizens should bear with Tinubu.
The lawmaker representing Edo North in the Senate, expressed optimism that the President’s policies would yield results in due course.
According to the former governor of Edo state, the policies would require more than a year to materialise, hence the need for people to have faith
His comment is coming amid plans by Nigerians to stage a nationwide protest over the hunger and hardship. Meanwhile, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) recently published its latest inflation figures on Nigeria which rose to 34.19 percent in June 2024.
Oshiomhole said; “You have to agree that some of the policy initiatives will require more than a year to materialise.
“What would the president gain by resorting to policy choices that are unlikely to deliver comfort in the long run? So, I think for me, it is about having faith that in the long run, these things will work out”.
