Three soldiers of the 14 Brigade Headquarters of the Nigerian Army, Ohafia, attached to the 144 Battalion, are feared dead after gunmen attacked them in Aba, Abia State.
The soldiers were killed this morning, May 30, at the army outpost located on the popular Obikabia junction off Umuola in Aba North local government area.
Masked gunmen who came in a black-coloured SUV, took the soldiers unawares, TheNation reports.
The gunmen also made away with guns belonging to the soldiers. They razed their patrol van and set the outpost ablaze before leaving.
Following the attack, military aircraft was sighted hovering around the city centre.
