Popular Nigerian skit maker, Isaac Olayiwola, better known as Layi Wasabi has stated in a interview that the suits he wears mostly in his contents belonged to his grandfather.
During his interview with BBC Pidgin, the 22-year-old comic star said that his grandfather passed the outfits to him before he died.
Layi, born and bred in Osogbo, Osun state, gained fame after his online comedy video went viral on social media platforms especially YouTube. Studied law degree in Bowen university, he is well known for portraying the character of ‘The law’, adorning his black suits and brown shoe. His tall stature also attracted attentions of many fans.
However, Layi revealed that he has about five different colours of the suits, all given to him by his Grandpa. He added that he inherited the shoes and should be around 20 years.
In his words, “It’s funny how the suits I normally wear to play D’Law belonged to my grandfather, he passed them down to me and the suit is older than me. As you’re looking at that suit, I have about five more with different colours.”
“It was just me ransacking his wardrobe and seeing old things, even the shoe. I think the shoe is still a bit more recent, it would be close to 20 years old. At least I’m older than the shoe but the suit is older than me, it’s nearly 30 years.”
His revelations triggered massive reactions as fans thronged to comment section to share their thoughts. Some reactions are shown below:
