Veteran Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic has opened up about the reasons behind her years-long hiatus from acting and her struggles after moving to London.
The actress disclosed that she stopped acting around 2002 and moved to London because it was a very dark period for her life. She claimed that she chose to take a break after having a falling out with certain friends who she thought of as family.
She gave up her fame after moving to London and began working as a caregiver for adults with special needs in a care facility in an effort to make ends meet.
While some might view it as a step down, she doesn’t because taking care of others brought her joy and purpose at the time she most needed it.
She took care of her parents when they were critically ill so it wasn’t a big deal for her. Rita Dominic further shared how her mother passed following the protracted illness and her contributions to her success.
