Popular Nigerian musician Mayorkun has slammed Nigerian senators, calling for funds to be allocated towards fixing the roads in the country instead of purchasing new SUVs.
The artist voiced his concerns about the poor state of the roads and the need for urgent repair work.
He cited safety concerns for motorists and pedestrians as the main reason why the government should prioritize road maintenance over unnecessary expenditures on fancy cars that will not benefit Nigerians in the long run.
Mayorkun addressed the senators directly in his message, imploring them to put road repairs ahead of buying fancy cars.
The artist explicitly called attention to the terrible state of the Lekki-Epe expressway, stating that it’s totally unacceptable.
He blasted the senators for buying SUVs while essential road infrastructure was still in poor condition.
Mayorkun expressed his dissatisfaction, bemoaning Nigeria’s poor quality of roads and highlighting how even the most skilled drivers may be humbled by their country’s appalling road conditions.
In another story, Mayorkun speaks on clash with Davido
In a recent development, during a question and answer session titled “Let us talk,” a curious fan asked Mayorkun if he had any issues with DMW, pointing out that he did not see him at Davido’s Timeless concert in Lagos.
The netizen wrote:
“What’s wrong with you and 30BG, notice you did not go to the concert cause I did not see you.”
Mayorkun found the question amusing and asked if he and the inquirer were in the same world.
Despite leaving the record label, it appears that all is well between Mayorkun and DMW as the singer performed at Davido’s Timeless concert contrary to the fan’s assertion.
