Popular Nollywood actress Ini Edo has said that she originally wanted to be a lawyer or a newscaster, but that her destiny led her to acting.
She said that her role model was the late broadcaster Tokunbo Ajayi, and that she always loved watching her news.
The mother of one stated that she had always been involved in the arts, both in school and church. When she was waiting for her JAMB results to go to law school, she decided to do a diploma in Theater Arts. She then started doing stage acting, and eventually got the opportunity to go into film.
Edo’s family initially did not support her decision to pursue a career as an actress, but a movie director named Ikenna Igwe came to her house to convince them to let her do the film. Edo said that she is grateful for Igwe’s support, and that she is now happy with her career as an actress.
