The return of the National Emergency Management Agency and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria to the Office of the Vice President for supervision was on Tuesday, June 20, approved by President Bola Tinubu.
This was in compliance with their various establishment Acts. NEMA had been under the purview of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development since it was created in August 2019.
The Director of Information, Office of the Vice President, Olusola Abiola who announced the development on Tuesday, also disclosed that the President also approved a formal structure for the Office of the Vice President as well as an “appropriate number” of technical and administrative aides that will work with the Vice President in the discharge of his responsibilities.
