Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has said Lionel Messi will thrive at Inter Miami after the Argentine confirmed his move to the MLS.
Messi is leaving Paris Saint-Germain after only two seasons as a free agent.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has snubbed a return to Barcelona, where he enjoyed four successful years with Guardiola.
There were also huge offers from Saudi Arabia but Messi has decided to continue his career in Major League Soccer (MLS).
Guardiola told reporters:
“I am out of this situation, you know more about it than I do.
“If in the end, Leo decides to go to the United States, I am sure he will do well and that is the best decision for him. I ignore the inner gossip. And the money over there is very good, I won’t comment about it.”
Messi is set to earn north of £40m whilst at Inter Miami.
