Nigerian Afropop singer, Chukwuka Ekweani popularly known as Ckay has said that Afrobeats sensation, BNXN, backed out of featuring on his latest song, Hallelujah.
He revealed that there was supposed to be multiple versions of the single with BNXN, Seyi Vibez and Blaqbonez, but due to some personal reasons the first two could not be featured.
The ‘Love Nwantiti’ crooner made this known through his verified Twitter account on Thursday, 15th of June, 2023.
Halelujah was released few weeks ago and it features rapper, Blaqbonez.
Ckay said that BNXN opted out when he heard Blaqbonez’ verse while Seyi’s team simply did not give him a clear feedback.
He, however, said that Hallelujah represents his journey from a poor upbringing to where he is today.
He wrote; “The bnxn version of HALLELUJAH may never come out. he asked to be ‘excused’ from the song when he heard blaqbonez’ verse and i simply granted his wish.
seyi vibez version may also never come out because his team didn’t clear it. maybe the verse was too personal, maybe it was too deep…i fully respect it.
But at the end of the day, HALLELUJAH represents my journey from the trenches to where i am today. Blaqbonez is my bro for real and we share a lot more than a lot of you might think, but that’s a story for another day. I appreciate the love and support of the TRUE fans. i won’t be here without you.”
