It appears that Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti is facing additional trouble, as a new video has surfaced in which he boasts about slapping multiple police officers.
Although the specific date of the video has not yet been confirmed, Seun can be heard in the footage claiming that he acted in this way because of his awareness of his own status.
“Some police officers get slapped, and then they go on Instagram to explain themselves. Do you know how many police officers I have slapped?” he asks in pidgin English.
“They say it’s because you’re Fela’s son. Don’t you know that Jesus is also God’s son and that he died for you? You have to know who you are before making a move. So, I made my move because I know who I am…
The Police Service Commission has already issued an order for Seun’s arrest and prosecution.
Hours after the video of his altercation with a police officer went viral, Seun was seen giving an explanation for his behaviour, claiming that the officer had attempted to kill him and his family.
“He tried to kill me and my family. I have evidence, but I’m not trying to gain attention. He has apologized, and I’ve agreed not to press charges. Please let him keep his job and mind your own business,” Kuti said.
