President Buhari will on Wednesday, May 3, depart Nigeria for the UK to attend the coronation of King Charles III.
In a statement released, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said while in the UK, the president will also take part in a summit for presidents and heads of government of Commonwealth countries on Friday, May 5.
According to the statement, President Buhari will be accompanied to the UK by Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation; Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture; and Babagana Monguno, national security adviser.
Other officials expected to be in the president’s entourage are Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, director-general of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA); and Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).
Recall that following the demise of his mum, Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III was proclaimed as Britain’s new monarch in September 2022.
