Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, received their Certificate of Return issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Thursday, March 30.
This was after their victory at the March 18 governorship election in the state.
Sanwo-Olu, who got re-elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, won the election by polling 762,134 votes to defeat his closest, Labour Party’s Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, who polled 312,329 votes and Olajide Adediran of the People’s Democratic Party who scored 62,449 votes.
The governor and his deputy were accompanied by their wives to INEC’s office in the state to receive the Certificate of Return to see them in office for another four years.
Addressing the audience, Sanwo-Olu reiterated his call for calm and peaceful coexistence in the stance, just as he warned against religious and ethnic intolerance.
