Netizens have taken to social media to jubilate after the Federal High Court in Lagos barred the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from engaging the Chairman of the Lagos Parks and Garages, Musiliu Akinsanya better known as MC Oluomo, in the distribution of election materials in the forthcoming election in the state.

Tontrends earlier reported that the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Lagos State, Olusegun Agbaje, disclosed that the commission would engage MC Oluomo in the distribution of election materials. A move which generated negative relations from all and sundry.

In a new development, the Federal High Court ruled in favour of the Labour Party, Lagos State chapter and bared INEC from using MC Oluomo for electoral purposes.

Netizens react with jubilation

Netizens have taken to various comment sections to celebrate what some tagged a mighty win in the right direction while others noted that INEC has been compromised.

How on earth will that person be responsible for sharing election materials in the first place.
Is he inec official or the police or the army?”

Bucheevon wrote: “But why on earth would an Electoral body, headed by an Academic Professor, use street urchins, hoodlums or touts for the logistics and distribution of sensitive materials in the first place? It only means that its policy framework, and basis for its Candidate’s selective criteria amounts to nothing. In the first place INEC should have long disqualified the ruling party’s candidate on so many legitimate grounds. INEC has literally made itself worthless in the eyes of NIGERIANs”
