“It’s not time to cry; it’s time to stand on your feet and face the challenge with faith” – Bishop Oyedepo tells those always singing ‘My daddy, my daddy your baby is crying”

Bishop David Oyedepo, the General Overseer of Living Faith Church Worldwide, shared his candid thoughts on the popular worship song “My Daddy, My Daddy” by Sunmisola Agbebi and Lawrence Oyor. Speaking during their midweek service, Bishop Oyedepo revealed what he told his daughter, who was singing the song.

He expressed that while the song has touched many lives, it is essential to recognize that Christians must not remain in a state of spiritual infancy. “Our glorious destiny cannot be achieved without overcoming the challenges that come with it. You can’t carry a winning champion belt without receiving some punches,” he said. Drawing a comparison to the Christian journey, he explained that challenges are inevitable, but they shape believers into champions.

Bishop Oyedepo recounted what he told his daughter, who was singing “My Daddy, My Daddy, your baby is singing.” He humorously pointed out that many adult Christians often behave like “crying babies,” always focused on the difficulties they face. He said, “I told one of my daughters who sang that song, ‘You are now almost a grandmother, and you are still saying ‘your baby is crying.'”

Bishop Oyedepo emphasized that it is not a time to cry but to face challenges head-on. “It’s not time to cry; it’s time to stand on your feet and face the challenge,” he urged. He encouraged believers to mature in their faith, stand firm, and embrace the battles they face, knowing that victory is assured when they trust in God.
