Soldiers gun down bandits attempting to pick up N1.5m ransom in Kaduna

Soldiers have neutralised two bandits who were attempting to collect N1.5m ransom for four abducted victims at Mai-Iddo village in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The four captives, comprising three females and a child, who were abducted at a farm last week were rescued by the troops.

A community leader from the area confirmed the incident to Daily Trust on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

He said the two bandits were k!lled after their leader ordered them to go to a location, where a relation of the abducted victims was expected to drop the ransom.

“The arrangements had been concluded with the troops with the man who will be taking the ransom to them and a vigilante. On getting to the particular location, the troops took cover,” he said.

“As two of the bandits came out to pick the ransom, the troops opened fire at them and killed the two of them instantly.”

He said the abducted victims were rescued by the troops and reunited with their families.
