Veteran Nigerian actress Regina Askia has taken to social media to voice her concerns regarding the court’s recent ruling ordering social media activist VeryDarkMan, to remove defamatory posts about renowned human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN).

The court also reportedly mandated VeryDarkMan to pay N500 million to the Falanas for damages.

In her Instagram post, Askia posed several provocative questions about the implications of the judgment.

Regina Askia questions court ruling in VeryDarkMan’s defamation ase

She wrote:

“VDM to pay= N=500 000 000. What happens to the person who collected 15 million? What about the one who recorded the video? What about the one who told the story and the biggest one of all who is the purported God father?”

The controversy surrounding VeryDarkMan erupted when he implicated Femi Falana and his son, rapper Falz, in a scandal involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and crossdresser Idris ‘Bobrisky’ Okuneye.

VeryDarkMan alleged that a bribe of N10 million was paid to clear Bobrisky’s name, leading to the legal action that resulted in the court’s ruling.

This development has triggered a wave of reactions online, with many weighing in on the unfolding situation.
