A Nigerian father elicited strong reactions during his daughter’s wedding by making a striking declaration to the groom, asserting that she was a virgin and had never been intimate with any man, referring to her as “tear rubber.”
He further challenged the groom, stating that he could call him a “bastard” if he ever found this assertion to be untrue.
This statement was made during the wedding ceremony, with his daughter, the bride, and his wife by his side.
Speaking in Yoruba to the audience, he stressed that his daughter was untouched, comparing her to a “new” and unused item.
With conviction, he pounded his chest to emphasize the veracity of his statement. Although the audience erupted in laughter, he maintained a serious demeanor, reiterating his assurance to the groom that he stood by his claim and that the groom could contest it if proven otherwise.
