A 70-year-old man has been arrested by the police in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County of Kenya for stabbing his son to death following a land dispute.
Francis Njagi is accused of stabbing his son 32-year-old son, James Muobe in the chest and seriously injuring him, leading to his death.
A police report read;
“There was a fierce argument between the diseased and his father about land matters whereby the father stabbed the son in the chest seriously injuring him.”
The report further indicates that the deceased was rushed to Kianyaga Sub-County Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The body of the diseased was moved to the Kerugoya morgue awaiting postmortem.
The murder weapon was recovered as police launched further investigation into the matter.
