Following the end of 2019 BBNaija Pepper Dem edition which saw Mercy emerge as winner of the N60m prize, many fans of the show are yet to get over the euphoria that the show brought to the screens of thousands of people.

The show which had millions of Nigerians and fans from other country excited, wasn’t without its many twist and turns and much to the pleasure of many fans of the reality show, it lived up to the theme, Pepper Dem.

As fans bid farewell to the 2019 edition of the BBNaija reality show, Our Agency has gathered 10 most memorable events that occurred during the show.

1. Omashola’s first diary session:

While Omashola had the looks and seemed to possess some charm, nobody was ready for what was to come in the Delta-born’s first diary session.

Omashola not only brought his loquacious side , but was also very entertaining as he carried on in pidgin English, giving a breakdown of his experience in the house so far.

Omashola left many Nigerians amused after he asked Big Brother: “Why you no bring like two mad people? If he mad too much, we go find rope tie am… Nobody dey mad here; everybody dey cool”.

His diary session was so entertaining even Don Jazzy had to give it up for the housemate.

2. Frodd crying over Esther

On the very first day of entering the BBNaija house, Frodd was the first to display his soft and vulnerable side to his fellow housemate.

The fact that he was seen as a soft person did little to stop the buzz that shook social media after he shed tears due to his relationship proposal being rejected by fellow housemate, Esther.

However, judging from the way the two were all over each other at the grand finale of the show, it appears there just might be a future for them after all.

3. Tacha, Tacha, Tacha

Disqualified ex-housemate, Tacha is believed to be the reason Mercy’s self-proclaimed ‘queen of highlight’ title remains debatable. Tacha who remains one of the most controversial housemates to ever grace the show.

This is why one cannot forget Tacha’s now infamous interview with Ebuka, where she famously responded saying ‘Tacha, Tacha, Tacha’ after the show host asked her to name three characteristics of a Big Brother Naija winner.

4. Mike’s ‘I go report’ moment

It goes without saying that Mike sure made a whole lot of Nigerians love singer Teni’s song, Case even more. The episode started with the housemates rehearsing for the Pepsi Know Da Lyrics challenge and Omashola decided to help Mike out with the lyrics of Teni’s Case.

However, despite his efforts, Mike’s British accent got in the way as he kept pronouncing ‘report’ as ‘repo’.

5. Arrival of new housemates mid-show

Big Brother proved to be the king of twists and surprises when he introduced 5 new housemates into the house, a month into the show which included; Venita, Joe, Cindy, Elozonam and Enkay. The move brought about mixed feelings in the house and drama as expected.

Venita was one of the new housemate who brought about drama causing issues between BBNaija in-house lovers, Gedoni and Khafi.

6. Seyi and Tacha’s fights

Many fans of the reality show hoped that the friendship developed between Tacha and Seyi after their fake eviction, will grow into something more beautiful.

And for a while, it seemed that way but the series of fights that followed proved it was never going to happen.

The most memorable one of their fights started when Ebuka quizzed the pair about their misunderstanding during the live eviction show the following Sunday, Seyi described Tacha as a “silly little girl who tries to act gangster”.

Clearly displeased by his description of her, Tacha described him as a drunk, adding that Seyi had not achieved what she had at age 23. This set off a heated conversation on social media with fans comparing the two.

7. Cindy and Enkay’s Ludo game

The incident which rocked social media platforms saw Enkay being evicted from the house. Trouble started after Enkay refused to play another round of Ludo with fellow newcomer Cindy while in the house.

Judging from the manner in which she shooed Cindy away, fans of the show were outraged by her behaviour which they described as condescending and thus proceeded to vote against her.

8. Mercy gets a strike over her fight with Ike

Known as the Bonnie and Clyde of BBNaija, Mercy and Ike served major gangster love on screen as their love was just as intense as their fights.

One of their numerous fights started after the pair got into a heated conversation over Mercy’s fear of eviction that weekend. After Ike walked out of the conversation, Mercy lunged with a half empty bottle of water at him, screaming, “You will never win so long as I am in this house. Except I leave before you win. You couldn’t make it in America; you think you will make it in Nigeria? Fool! You want me to leave because I am your biggest threat!”

The fight earned her a strike from Big Brother.

9. Mercy buying immunity

It goes without saying that Mercy played a good game, earning her the title as the 2019 BBNaija winner. Mercy’s love for winning led her to ask her love interest, Ike, to give her coins, which she strategically used to purchase immunity and secure her place in the finals.

The move not only solidified her position in the house, it also showed the depth of Ike’s love for her.

10. Mercy/Tacha Fight

The fight between Mercy and Tacha which led to the latter’s disqualification, remains the mother of all highlights in the show.

Mercy who flicked her hair in Tacha’s face during a heated argument led Tacha to pull Mercy’s hair. Despite having being forgiven by Biggie and all her initial strikes cancelled, Tacha was disqualified from the show; less than 10 days to the grand finale.
