A shot-stopper who was saved from chocking to death on the football field, has taken to Facebook to thank an opposition team striker who reacted quickly to save his life.
Bohemians goalkeeper, Martin Berkovec has Slovacko striker, Francis Kone, to thank for saving his life after a horror collision when the sides clashed in Czech Republic’s 1. Liga football match.
The keeper had come to the edge of his box to collect a long through pass but defender Daniel Krch crashed into him, leaving the shot-stopper unconscious on his back and swallowing his own tongue.
Kone, however, showed lightning-fast reactions to recognise the trouble his opponent was in, racing across to ensure the goalkeeper could breath.
After the match, which finished 0-0 on Saturday, Berkovec expressed his gratitude to the Togo international forward via his Facebook account: “I would like to thank Francis Kone for rescue at today’s game… I’m glad for the help and thanks again!!!”
Reports suggest the 28-year-old will make a full recovery. Watch the video below courtesy of Goal.com;
