There was an explosion in the early hours of this morning, January 19, at the Grail land’s sharp bend along Akute-Ajuwon road in Lagos.
A petrol tanker exploded, destroying many houses and cars in the area.
Men of the Lagos state Fire service were quick to arrive at the scene and succeeded in putting out the fire.
No casualties have been reported yet.
There has been quite a number of fire incidents involving petrol tankers in recent times. About three weeks back, a tanker loaded with diesel caught fire around the Lekki area of Lagos.
In the early hours of Saturday December 5, there was a tanker explosion at Ojuelegba, Lagos. The tanker laden with 33 litres of petrol exploded after spilling its contents on the road at about 2 am, razed over five cars and buildings built along the road.
